Vas Ketavarapu

Hi, my name is Vas (short for Srinivas). I received my private pilot certificate in 1988 and my instrument rating in 1990. After taking a break from flying for quite a few years, I resumed flying in 2021 and rediscovered my passion for it to the point where I wanted to teach others! I received my commercial, AGI and CFI certificates in the last couple of years. I have flown aerobatics and also soloed in gliders.

I believe in developing strong stick (or yoke!) and rudder skills in students/learners while also teaching the importance of procedures (checklist use, ATC communication, etc.) and risk management.  I utilize video as well as tools such as CloudAhoy and FlySto as part of the teaching process. In addition to training for private and commercial certificates, I am also available for RV-10 transition training, flight reviews, Expanded Envelope Exercises (https://www.aopa.org/training-and-safety/air-safety-institute/flight-review/learn-to-turn-e3-guide) and training on the Avidyne IFD 4xx/5xx Navigators. I teach flying part-time while working a regular tech job.
